2007 - 8,000 Miles Road Trip

This road trip with the kids was before Facebook... so no pictures except those in the photobook. But here's the itinerary (June 1 - July 5, 2007)

• Various towns in Texas visiting family

  • • Riding horses, catching tadpoles, swimming, arts & crafts with cousins, 

• Carlsbad Caverns, NM

  • • Watching bats emerge at dusk, touring caves

• White Sands, NM

  • • Sliding down the sands on disks

• Santa Fe, NM

• Acoma Pueblo, NM

• Painted Desert & Petrified Forest, AZ

• Grand Canyon, AZ

  • • Stayed at the lodge on the North Rim.

• Las Vegas, NV

  • • We all hated it. Except for the buffet at the Bellagio hotel

• Disneyland, CA

  • • and Atomic Records

• San Luis Obispo, CA

  • • Stayed at the Madonna Inn - Jungle Room

    • Had lunch at The Old Port Inn (on a pier, with see-through tables to the ocean below)

    • Hearst Castle

• San Francisco, CA (Keith flew in and met us there)

    • Fortune Cookie factory tour

    • Japanese Tea Garden

    • Lombard Street

• Lava Hot Springs, ID

  • • A fun side trip to the city pool fed by hot springs

• Yellowstone National Park

  • • Stayed at the Mammoth Hot Springs Resort

    • Took a covered wagon ride across the range
